Celebrate the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day

Today is the 100th Anniversary of International Women’s Day. International Women’s day is a global celebration of women. The celebration of women is recognized differently all over the world and ranges from general celebration of respect, appreciation and love towards women for causes and achievements from the past, present and future.

On this Day – 2/11/1990 Nelson Mandela freed.

February 11th marks 21 years since Nelson Mandela was released from imprisonment in South Africa.

Women’s History Month on the Map.

It makes a great starting point for researching great female figures of history from a Geographic point of view. Useful for researching not only the people but the areas and backgrounds they come from or the places they made their names.
